NEW: Calrec Type R IP mixing system software update
From Summer 2025, Calrec Type R users will be able to access the next software upgrade providing a number of key radio focused features. This includes off-air record functionality, simplifying routing enabling operators to engage in an off-air recording whilst not affecting the on-air mix, for example, a guest interview for future transmission; enhanced GPIO control over console talkback facilities; user labels for Mix Minus buses; monitor outputs can now follow another monitor selector; and a large 120 channel path DSP pack option with 32 aux buses.

NEW: True Control 2.0 remote control for radio
At NAB, Calrec’s True Control 2.0 will make its Las Vegas debut. True Control 2.0 increases flexibility for users by remotely controlling a Type R console from another Type R console whether that’s within the same facility or for studios spread across multiple locations. This has significant benefits for system resilience or disaster recovery but perhaps more importantly from a production workflow perspective. For example, being able to control audio processing in studio 2 from the console in studio 1, or even control audio processing in Austin from a facility in New York.

Calrec’s True Control 2.0 allows operators to map control of remote audio processing to their console surface and control a full remote signal path including path EQ, Dynamics, Routing and Delay. Each Type R can access up to five other consoles simultaneously to provide more processing cores and deliver more control in multiple locations. The ability to control both local and remote audio processing on the same physical surface opens up a wide range of remote and distributed production workflows.
